What a pleasure it was to welcome 10 local young people on work experience with us before the Summer holidays.
Within a week we can show the variety of careers available in housing and what our bread and butter is at Adra.
All six brought energy and enthusiasm to our offices for the week and we loved all the new ideas and perspectives they suggested.
Llew from Ysgol Brynrefail spent the week with a variety of teams, our Community Involvement Team, Procurement Team, our Wardens and our Customer Services Team.
All the staff were very nice and ready to help. I learned a lot about the company and how much they do for the local community and how the company buys and sells houses. I have learned a lot about my career path and seen what kind of work I would enjoy.”
Rhodri, also from Ysgol Brynrefail came over to shadow the Development Team. He enjoyed seeing our new sites and learning about the process and rules which must be followed when building.
Mannon had the opportunity to go around our housing stock with our Liaison Officer to see how we coordinate renovation work on our existing homes while Jac had work experience with our Repair Team.
We hope that giving opportunities like this will attract local young people to work with us in the future and that they remember all the learning and development opportunities that are available through us.
