There was a family day at Tŷ Gwyrddfai, Adra’s decarbonisation hub in Penygroes yesterday. This was an opportunity for local tenants to visit the site to see the latest developments there and to see how the building is being transformed. Many will remember the site as Kruger or Northwood Hygiene over the years and it was a big employer in the area. It was a lovely opportunity to show the site in its new form to local residents.
There were plenty of kids’ activities for a wet half term afternoon including face painting, colouring, building and a felt workshop. The purpose of the felt workshop was to demonstrate that a waste product, being wool in this instance, can be used to create something wonderful. This workshop ties in with Tŷ Gwyrddfai’s net zero ambitions.
This event was funded by the REACH project via The Open University Wales.
