It’s time to talk about mental health and wellbeing

Today is Time to Talk day 2022 and we are asking everyone in Wales to have a chat about mental health.

Mental health problems are more common than people realize – and affect one in four of us. But people are still afraid to discuss mental health, making some people feel ashamed or lonely.

The theme for 2022 is to help communities across the country hold more conversations about mental health than ever before. To talk or have a chat about mental health has the power to make a big difference. Let’s start talking, together, we can end mental health stigma.

So, do something to help your and others’ mental health today – even if it means texting a friend asking if they want to come over for a cuppa or if they’d like to go for a walk – or even a conversation over the phone or on Face Time.

Talking about mental health reduces the stigma and helps create supportive communities where we can talk openly about mental health and be empowered to seek help when we need it.

That’s why starting the conversation about mental health problems is so important – by talking about them, we can help ourselves and others.

However you do it, talk about mental health.
