We always aim to work with local contractors.
Some of the reasons we do this is to keep jobs local for people within our communities and to keep the social value of all of our projects local.
Recently we have been working with Williams Homes from Bala on a large contract in Maes Bleddyn, Rachub.
As part of this contract they visited pupils at Ysgol Tryfan earlier this month to teach them about STEM Gogledd.
STEM Gogledd offers exciting opportunities for secondary school pupils. STEM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths and aims to show the wide
range of careers available through these subjects.
A practical ‘Tetrahedron’ exercise was used to demonstrate that planning, design and teamwork are effective tools in construction.
Penny from Williams Homes, who attended the event is especially passionate about encouraging more women to join the Construction industry.
The children were very engaging and asked lots of questions. Hopefully we inspired a few engineers and groundworkers of the future’.
Thanks Williams Homes!
